Familial Connections

In which Robert Downey Jr. looks strangely similar to my Uncle Ed. Just a little bit.

My grandmom sent me an email the other day, and apparently another uncle (Uncle Jim, who works as a groundskeeper for M. Night Shyamalan) has a little teeny part in The Happening. Nothing exciting, just hanging out in the background as an extra, but it's still pretty neat. Now I can't wait to see it; saw some previews before Iron Man. I hope good ol' M. Night can pull it off once more... BTDubs, I hear his Halloween parties are pretty great.

I feel stupid for admitting it, but I kind of miss video games. When I left home I was working on the end part of Final Fantasy Twelve, plus going through Twilight Princess again (I nearly typed Twilight Zone; that would make an interesting Zelda game). It's not like it was a huge part of my life, but I miss the casual escapism I was getting. I think that's why I'm craving action/adventure/fantasy/scifi movies so much right now; I'm not getting my fix. Seriously, after I saw I.M. (I'm embarrassed to even spell it out again) for the second time, I came home and watched Gladiator. Which I still like rather a lot. Russell Crowe may be a dick, but he sure does star in good films. I lurve me some Master & Commander; shame it probably didn't do well enough to ever encourage a sequel. I think I need to get out more and do physical things in the real world...

Hey, ya'll, I got less than two weeks left now. I think these will be a good two weeks; I have enough project stuff to keep me occupied but not too much to enjoy myself. The weather's finally getting better, and staying more or less that way, so there's more outside possibilities. Yesterday Tana and I went to Washington Park to look for frogs; we didn't find any, but I would like to go back and wander around the rose gardens. It was lovely up in the hills, and it doesn't take long at all to get up there.

I'm signed up for a history of film class and a world history class over the summer. This will be the first time I've ever done summer school, I'm actually pretty excited. Also, a job must be found. I'm pleased at the prospect of getting to work again.

I feel like I should write about something other than myself. Most of these sentences seem to start with "I." Also, it is now 12:37 and I need to be up at 6 am. Good job, bop. Get to bed. Next time, I will challenge myself to not write "I"s.

Obviously I have not read all of this, as I am illiterate.

See you SOON!
